And the left and much of the media will do whatever they can to make people believe thats true. Similar to the way Fox tries to make it look like the looniest liberals are the true voice of the left.

I belong to a lot of discussion groups and email lists that conservatives would consider radically liberal, but none of them have the sort of vile bigotry and hate-mongering that's routine in a lot of right-wing groups.
Fear and hate have always been the two forces that drive the far right. As a conservative that's your burden, and if you don't like it than I suggest you put a little more effort into teaching your crazies to play nice rather than simply making excuses for them.
